The Gaze

This piece is a 48’x 30’x 1’ Mixed Media Painting on canvas with layered acrylic, 1960’s-1980’s LIFE Magazine Media, Ink, and Pumice. Like the name suggests, this work focuses on the gaze of women, how they are supposed to appear, and their expectations in media from the 1960’s-1980’s to today. This is meant to show how the ‘gaze’ has still not changed, and pressing expectations still carry on today
